Description: THE WAY HOME is an inspirational true story about how a community rallied around a distraught family to search for their missing two year-old boy and by doing so changed the lives of many of those involved. RANDY SIMPKINS is a man with an addiction problem. As his wife CHRISTAL tells him, he is addicted to work. Randy is a good provider for his family, giving them everything they need but himself. When his two year-old son, JOE, disappears on their rural farm, everything Randy has taken for granted is brought into painful focus. After in vain, Randy and Christal call the authorities, who show up in force. As word spreads, the community responds as well Randy and Christal brought to grateful tears as community groups, congregations, local businesses and neighbors flood in, volunteering to help. Two of the volunteers are ED WALKER and his son TERRY. We learn that many years before Ed lost a brother, also named Joe, in a car crash which has been a heavy burden on Ed for many decades. Now, despite his failing health, Ed is determined to find the young boy. |
