CELEBRATION! CINEMA TO PRESENT FIRST EVER LIVE 3D EVENT BCS National Championship Game broadcast LIVE in 3D to Celebration! Cinema North on January 8th, 2009
Grand Rapids, Michigan - - Wednesday, December 17th, 2008 - - Celebration! Cinema announced today that its Grand Rapids North location has been tapped to present the Bowl Championship Series National Championship Game for the first time ever in a fully-marketed, live 3D event. Fox Sports and Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. will team up to broadcast the FedEx BCS National Championship Game in LIVE 3-D to select digitally-equipped theaters across the United States. The announcement represents the first ever sporting event broadcasted to the public in LIVE 3-D on a nationwide basis. "Grand Rapids can claim another first," said J.D. Loeks, Chief Operating Officer for Celebration! Cinema. "College football fans will be able to experience the game as if they were on the field. The 2009 FedEx BCS National Championship Game, featuring the Florida Gators (2) vs. the Oklahoma Sooners (1), is scheduled for Thursday, January 8at 8 pm EST.
