FREE MOVIES FOR KIDS 12 AND UNDER

Re-branded film festival opens March 20
at all Celebration! Cinema locations

Grand Rapids, Michigan- -Monday, March 16, 2009 - -  For 16 years kids have watched free movies at Loeks theatres during special film festivals known as the Dove Family Film Festival.  Beginning this Friday, March 20th,  Celebration! Cinema revs-up the same style festival with a new name – Flick's Family Film Festival. 

"The program remains free to kids 12 and under and only $2.50 for everyone else," said Steve VanWagoner, Vice President of Marketing for Celebration! Cinema.  "We’re re-branding the festival in an effort to expand our movie lineup and bring a dynamic new feel to the event.  We will continue to identify the Dove approved films that are part of the program." 

The new brand is named for Celebration! Cinema’s hip-popcorn shaped mascot Flick The Movie Kid.  Flick was first introduced in September of 2007.  Since then he has been used to introduce various promotions, events in the community and has become a staple at the theatre's website. 

"Our relationship with The Dove Family Film Foundation spans nearly 16 years," VanWagoner added.  “Our guests have enjoyed seeing movies that carried the Dove seal of approval.   We will continue to use the Dove Approved seal where it applies for families that are looking for that standard." 

Flick's Family Film Festival begins this Friday with Igor.   The movie is rated PG and will be shown at all Celebration! Cinema locations including Cinema Carousel in Muskegon.  For the entire lineup of movies, visit celebrationcinema.com/flicksfestival

Flick's Family Film Festival begins a six week set of family movies this  Friday, March 20. 

The festival is free to kids 12 and under and $2.50 for those 13 and older.
