The Chaos Experiment Premieres in Grand Rapids

 

The Chaos Experiment, formerly titled The Steam Experiment, is set to premiere May 5th, 2009, in Grand Rapids at Celebration! Cinema North, 2121 Celebration Drive NE.The May 5th premiere will be by invitation only for local cast, crew and vendors that worked on the film, which was shot in Grand Rapids last fall. Grand Rapids city officials and local media will also be invited to this event. Two hundred remaining tickets will be distributed through the West Michigan Film Office working in conjunction with local media outlets.

The Steam Experiment debuted in March at the Gasparilla Film Festival in Tampa, Florida. The film is directed by Cinepro CEO Philippe Martinez and produced by Luc Campeau. It stars Val Kilmer as a mentally unstable man who locks several people in a steam room, slowly turning up the heat as he plays verbal cat-and-mouse games with a police detective played by Armand Assante.

Starting May 8th, TheChaos Experiment will be available for public viewing at Celebration! Cinema North and Celebration! Cinema RiverTown. The weeklong run will include limited screenings at least twice a day and ticket proceeds will help benefit the West Michigan Film Office. Recognizable Grand Rapidslocations in the film include the carousel in the Van Andel Museum Center, the Bulls Head Restaurant, the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and the Grand Rapids Press offices. Distributor, Genius Products, plans to release the Chaos Experiment on DVD in June.
