1930's COME TO LIFE WITH NEW PUBLIC ENEMIES MOVIE AND HISTORIC VEHICLE DISPLAY

Celebration! Cinema North will display 1930 Packard Phaeton

Grand Rapids, Michigan - - Tuesday, June 30th 2009  - -  In 1930, the name Packard symbolized one thing: the most prestigious luxury automobile in the world. There were many other automobiles that were more expensive than Packard, but none were more desirable—with both the law abiding citizen and the criminal element. Fast, dependable and highly reliable.  Starting Wednesday, July 1st  Celebration! Cinema North will display a 1930 Packard Phaeton to help celebrate the July 1st opening of the new 1930’s crime drama Public Enemies.

"The Gilmore Car Museum has been gracious in offering this great car for display," said Mike Doty, General Manager of Celebration! Cinema North.  "Our customers will be able to see the car up close.  The display will also include people dressed in period clothing at different times this weekend.  The car will make coming to the movie even more of an event."

Public Enemies, the new crime thriller, stars Johnny Depp as the notorious John Dillinger during a booming crime wave in the 1930's.  The movie opens to 12:01am shows on Wednesday, July 1st for a big five day, Fourth of July weekend.

"The idea is to help bring the movie to life," Doty added.  "Our customers really appreciate the eye-popping displays the staff puts together and we think this will be a real treat for movie-goers this weekend."

Also on display are custom built 10ft tall Transformers models in celebration of the new blockbuster hit Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen.  One of the models features a controllable CD player with music and sound bites from the original Transformers TV show as well as LED eyes that flashes to the beat of the music.

The 1930 Packard Phaeton will be on display at Celebration! Cinema North from Wednesday, July 1st through Sunday, July 5th.

About the Gilmore Car Museum:  The Gilmore Car Museum, located M-43 twenty miles south of Hastings, is hailed as one of the Top Five automotive museums in the nation.

Began in 1963 as the hobby of one man the non-profit museum opened to the public in 1966 with 35 cars. Today, nestled on its 90-acre park-like setting—the equivalent of nearly 70 professional football fields—you'll encounter over 200 extraordinary vehicles from all eras. Here you’ll find exhibits ranging from an 1899 Locomobile steam car to the classic Duesenberg, from the elusive Tucker '48 to the Model T Ford, to the muscle cars of the '60s and '70s and beyond.

Now through August 4, 2009 the Gilmore Car Museum will feature an exhibit entitled, "Public Enemies, G-Men and Their Cars," featuring 19 cars of from the 1930s gangster era. This special limited-time exhibition will showcase cars that would have been utilized by law enforcement and outlaws alike, as well as some very rare memorabilia. Amongst the cars, such as a 1929 Lincoln Phaeton formerly used by the Detroit Police Commissioner, guests will also see original wanted posters for John Dillinger, Bonnie & Clyde and 45 caliber bullet slugs recovered from the famed Little Bohemian shootout between the FBI and the Dillinger gang. During the last two weeks of the exhibit the Museum will also display a restored 1937 Ford V-8 Michigan State Police patrol car.

So when your looking for something fun and affordable this summer that the entire family will enjoy... And someplace you don’t have to drive all day to get to visit the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI. Learn more at GilmoreCarMuseum.org
