CELEBRATION! CINEMA TO HOST CHILDREN FROM CORONADO GARDENS WHO COLORED PHOTOS OF MASCOT

Project for small children turns into fun at the movies  

Lansing, Michigan - - Saturday, August 8th, 2009 - -  When Kathy Glisson asked a group of children at Coronado Gardens to color pictures of a local mascot, she didn’t have a movie party in mind.  But after Celebration! Cinema received the 15 drawings, the children and several others have been invited to the theatre for a free movie.
"We're thrilled," said Glisson, Activities Coordinator for Coronado Gardens Cooperative in Lansing.  "The children get a movie, pop and popcorn.  But more than that, they learn if they do something new and different, good things can happen."
The movie, Disney's G-Force, will be attended by 45 children and adults from Coronado on Monday, August 10th at 3:00pm at Celebration! Cinema – 200 East Edgewood in Lansing.  It's likely that Flick The Movie Kid could make a brief appearance.
"We wanted to reward the children at Coronado for doing such a great job with the pictures of our mascot,  Flick The Movie Kid,"  said Steve VanWagoner, VP of Marketing for Celebration! Cinema.  "These pictures were different.  Kathy printed images of Flick and had the children color between the lines.  Very cool and very fun.  We've enjoyed looking at them and Flick was very happy to see the effort." 
Glisson decided to mail the photos to the Celebration! Cinema corporate office to show off the hard work.  VanWagoner received the pictures and contacted the Lansing theatre.  45 children and adults from Coronado on Monday, August 10th at 3:00pm at Celebration! Cinema – 200 East Edgewood in Lansing.  The media is invited to speak to the children.
